Na een bewogen Dakar moest Mirjam even een tandje terugschakelen en de storm over laten waaien. De gebeurtenissen tijdens de rally en ook daarna vroegen van haar de tijd om weer te landen in de ‘echte’ wereld. Het begrip voor het feit dat ze alles graag in de luwte een plekje wilde geven was hartverwarmend.

“Ik heb zoveel lieve en opbeurende berichten ontvangen, van Nieuw-Zeeland tot IJsland tot in mijn eigen dorp, iedereen leefde enorm mee. Een dag nadat Edwin Straver naar Nederland was gerepatrieerd, overleed hij in bijzijn van zijn familie en vrienden.
Toen dat naar buiten kwam, stond mijn telefoon roodgloeiend. Verschillende media wilden een reactie. Wel begrijpelijk hoewel mijn hoofd daar totaal niet naar stond. Om te voorkomen dat er reacties ‘van horen zeggen’ naar buiten zouden komen, ben ik aangeschoven bij een aantal radio- en TV-programma’s”, vertelt Mirjam hier zelf over.

FIM International Six Days of Enduro & FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy postponed until 2021

Following in-depth discussions between the FIM, FMI and the local organising committee of the 2020 FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) and the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy (EVT) in relation to the ongoing Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the associated restrictions, it has been decided to postpone the events until the same period in 2021.

Whilst the ISDE was not due to take place until late August early September of this year – between Lombardy and Piedmont, Italy – there are many influencing factors that made it necessary to take a decision sooner rather than later regarding the 95th edition of what remains the oldest event in the FIM international calendar.

The annual off-road event attracts several hundred competitors from more than thirty countries around the World each year, all of whom which have to commit to extensive travel and logistic plans several months in advance of the ISDE.

Moreover, the ISDE demands many months of forward planning and work to prepare many hundred of kilometres of course, all of which rely on the permission of the various local authorities and stakeholders.

With this in mind the FIM, FMI and the local organising committee decided that in the best interest of all parties, and to ensure that the ISDE continues to hold it place as one of the most important events in the off-road calendar that all early decision to postpone the event was the right and proper action.

The 95th edition of the FIM International Six Days of Enduro will now take place from 30th August to 4th September 2021 with the 5th edition of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy from 2nd to 4th September, between Lombardy and Piedmont in Italy.

Please note all 2020 pre-entry fees will be refunded in due course.

Crazy Cross Bergeijk verzet wegens Coronavirus

Crazy Cross Bergeijk is afgelast wegens het coronavirus. De 10e editie zou op de Waterlaat in Bergeijk georganiseerd worden. We hebben een alternatief gevonden. Het evenement wordt verzet naar 19 en 20 september op de crossbaan in Lommel
Het is ontzettend jammer dat de Crazy Cross op dit moment niet door kan gaan. Maar gezondheid gaat voor alles en de opgelegde maatregelen volgen wij op.

FIM: Update on 2020 FIM ISDE / FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy

As the global outbreak of coronavirus continues to develop and restrictions put in place, a decision on the maintenance of the date of the 2020 FIM ISDE will be taken by the FIM, the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana and the Organiser of the 2020 FIM International Six Days of Enduro and FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy no later than April 15th 2020.

An announcement will be made shortly after that decision.

In the meantime, the deadline of the pre-registration for the event is frozen and Federations are not requested to pay the 25 % of the Entry Fees.
