FIM Hard Enduro World Championship Looks Ahead To Series Re-start

Wels, Austria – May 18, 2021 — Following the challenging circumstances that unfortunately plagued the opening round of the 2021 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship at Extreme XL Lagares and then led to the subsequent cancellation of this year’s Red Bull Erzbergrodeo, the series is ready to bounce back strongly after this unprecedented double-disappointment.

With this chapter now closed, the FIM and WESS GmbH are now looking forward to the re-start of this year’s series, and to having the opportunity to deliver a diverse and exciting mix of events over the remainder of the season.

The next six events will ensure that the inaugural series is remembered for all the right reasons, whilst also being worthy of crowning the first ever FIM Hard Enduro World Champion. De laatste etappe van de Andalucia rally is verreden en de punten voor het WC kunnen verdeeld worden; heeft het iets opgeleverd voor het duo Koolen en Pol? “Ja zeker, we zijn uiteindelijk derde in ons klassement geworden en dat had ik van tevoren met deze snelle etappes én deze professionele concurrenten niet durven hopen. We hebben zeer constant gereden, niet boven ons kunnen.”

“Vandaag bijvoorbeeld hebben we alle twee behoorlijk op onze tanden moeten bijten omdat we lang in het stof van een voorganger reden en er net niet voorbij konden. Wat doe je dan; neem je risico’s en ga je er toch voorbij of houd je in, laat je je iets terugzakken en sla je op een geschikter moment toe? Rallyrijden is zeker ook een tactisch spelletje en dat weten Mirjam en ik beiden wel goed te spelen”, volgens de Wereldkampioen van 2020.
