European Enduro Championship: First step into the new season

The new season of the European Enduro Championship starts this weekend, on 6/7 April 2019, in Góis, Portugal (40 km east of Coimbra). As in all the years, there are four different competitions to choose the champions.

In Portugal the participants can expect a circuit in the mountainous terrain of approx. 60 kilometres, which has to be ridden three times a day. This includes three different special stages, a crosstest at Carvalhinha and two enduro tests in Quinta da Capela and nearby in Celavisa.

Morocco Desert Challenge 2019 breekt alle records

Met ruim 50 procent meer deelnemers dan vorig jaar op de startlijst, en bij de side-by-sides zelfs een verdubbeling, breekt de Morocco Desert Challenge 2019 alle records. Op zaterdag 13 april beginnen in Agadir bijna 300 rally-raid voertuigen, 210 assistentietrucks en -auto’s, en 1300 personen aan de elfde editie van het evenement, die daarmee is uitgegroeid tot het tweede grootste crosscountry-rally ter wereld.

Hard enduro series Germany Neuhaus-Schiersnitz

Zaterdag 30 maart werd de eerste wedstrijd verreden van de hard enduro Series Germany. Op vrijdag reisden 5 Nederlanders af om mee te rijden met deze wedstrijd. Zaterdag werden alle motors zonder problemen gekeurd en ingeleverd. Om 09:30 begon de wedstrijd met een proloog. Dit was een klein rondje met wat obstakels om de groepen en start opstelling te bepalen. Wesley Pittens wist de proloog als beste Nederlander op een 5de plaats af te sluiten. Robin Holtmeulen volgde op een 21ste plaats. Thierry Pittens had last van achterblijvers en moest genoegen nemen met een 26ste plaats. Simon Koning werd 77ste en Rico Doomen 132ste van de totaal 150 rijders.

Zonnige start Jeugdenduro in Westerbork

Ties-Bennink-Westerbork-JeugdenduroMeer foto’s. Volledige uitslag. Vijf rondjes van een halfuur met één proef die 4,5 tot soms wel 7 minuten duurde. Dat lag er klaar voor de krap 30 jeugdige deelnemers. De rijtijd was ruim genoeg dus konden ze even uitpuffen na de pittige proef. Die was een mix van veel zandstukken van de crossbaan met paadjes er om heen met obstakels en stuurstukjes.
Op één blessure na (beterschap voor de rijdster!) ging het allemaal perfect en dan ook nog in het T-shirt voor de helpers.
Na vijf ronden hard werken waren dit de snelste drie per klasse:

1. 150 Ties Bennink; 2. 112. Danny van der Worp; 3. 125. mats Luiten
JE1:
1. 11. Twan Groeneweg; 2. 17. Joep van Diemen; 3. 15. Mels Bennink
Daglicenties:

EnduroGP Dahlen: Super Season Opener!

Euan MCCONNELL (GB - TM)The brand new 2019 season got underway in style in Dahlen, Germany. Let’s take a look back at this first round which gathered together 160 riders and more than 18,000 spectators over the weekend…

Five months! That was the amount of time left for MSC Dahlen the organise this opening round of the season, a contract which was arranged in mid-October last year. And in these five months, Lars SCHOLZ and his team did an excellent job to give the championship riders a race worthy of World Enduro. Moreover, everyone from the riders to the team managers, ABC Communication, John COLLINS (Director of Enduro) and the FIM all gave high praise to the Moto Club. Four unique and technical specials, with catering and beer stalls at every single one of them, and plenty of marshals: happy spectators and happy riders!

Elder Statesman
With the creation of the Open Senior category, many riders over 37 years old were able to participate in their first GP while others, like KNIGHT and BELOTTI, had the opportunity to return to the Championship. While the majority of these riders were between 40 and 50 years old, Leonard MOULIJN could be proud to say he was the eldest of the entrants as the Dutchman is 63 years old! Unfortunately, he was not able to finish the event but it’s a great story nonetheless – At 63, MOULIJN finally realised one of his dreams to enter World Enduro!
