Fresh from their strong performances last week at the EnduroGP of Hungary Loïc Larrieu and Jamie McCanney arrived in Greece looking to keep their momentum going throughout round five of the 2017 FIM EnduroGP World Championship. Proving to be quite a challenging event, the EnduroGP of Greece was contested during a really warm weekend with temperatures approaching 40°C.

Securing his first EnduroGP class win of 2017, Nathan Watson (KTM) was the big winner on day two of the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP of Greece where the British rider finished 23 seconds ahead of championship leader Steve Holcombe (Beta) at the end of a second hot and demanding day of racing in Grevena. Runner-up to Holcombe on day one, Watson topped five of the second day’s nine special tests to earn a well-deserved first win of the season. The opening day of competition at the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP of Greece in Grevena ended with EnduroGP championship leader Steve Holcombe (Beta) claiming his second victory of 2017, having battled against extreme heat and an on-form Nathan Watson (KTM). Fighting his way to Enduro 2 class victory Josep Garcia (KTM) secured his fifth win of the year despite a big crash on the event’s final motocross test.

The Enduro world stars enjoyed only a few days of rest before returning to service for this fifth stage of the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship. After a Maxxis GP of Hungary full of twists and turns that saw the big return on the first step of the podium of Christophe NAMBOTIN (F – KTM), the rendezvous in Greece, more precisely in Grevena, is well known by riders last year. The Maxxis Grand Prix of Greece 2016 had indeed marked the spirits, as rain and storms had been invited to the Fiesta throughout the weekend.

De 4de manche van het BK Enduro was in handen van de MC Avemott. De startplaats was in Binche aan het dépot van de stratenbouwfirma Wanty. Als groot tweewieler liefhebber stelde Mr Wanty 2 van zijn eigendommen ter beschikking om er 2 prachtige proeven op te stellen. De eerste was in een oude zandgroeve waar regelmatig trial stages worden gegeven en ook Clément Desalle een trainingsbaan heeft aangelegd. Voor ons werd er een mix van de 2 gemaakt en dat was best uitdagend. Proef 2 was vlak bij de paddock op een oude terril. Met lange klimmen
