On the second day of Enduro European-Championship in Bar sur Seine / France, the Frenchmen couldn’t win too. The overall winner was the Italian Maurizio Micheluz (again) in front of his fellow countryman Mirko Gritti. While the conditions were not Italian style, after a long and heavy rain in the night. The track became slippery and muddy and the organizers decided to ride the slower B-timetable. In addition they modified the track and the special-tests. In this conditions it was Micheluz to ride with his head and did not take too many risks. Some of his smaller slips didn’t develop to a real problem. Other riders had problems, like the second in the overall of the first day, Tom Sagar: “This time I made it hard for myself,” said the Brit. In the second of the three laps he crashed in every of the three specialtests. Still fast enough to win the E2-Class – but only fifth in the overall.
Second in the overall became the winner of the E3-Class: Mirko Gritti, the Italien who had to quit on first day after several heavy crashes. In the very last test of the day he took the lead from his fellow countryman Gianluca Martini with only 1.4 seconds after 50 minutes of specialtests! In the E1-class, behind Micheluz arrived Edward Hübner – the German had to quit the first day after a motor damage in Yamaha. Second day he showed how strong he can ride – and finished 4th overall.
Veteran Werner Müller from Austria took another victory and is going to defend his European-title again. At the Ladies the winner of first day, Sanna Karkkeinen from Finland, had problems with her injured shoulder and slowed down – so won with Audry Rossat a french woman in their home.
