\"openclass-luis-oliveira\"<\/a>This is the big moment for the brand-new Champion Lubricants Enduro Open World Cup<\/strong> which has been created during the offseason and aims to encourage new riders and privateer teams into the Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship. This weekend in Dahlen, Germany, the three categories that make up this World Cup will be officially launched. So it’s time for us to take a look at the main contenders…<\/p>\n

Starting with the Open 2-Stroke category<\/strong> which sees 19 entrants. Here there are many experienced riders such as Portugal\u2019s Gon\u00e7alo REIS (Gas Gas), Germany\u2019s Nico RAMBOW (KTM) and Matthias ALBRECHT (KTM) and France\u2019s Stephane MILACHON (Beta) who are all capable of performing well.
\nBut there are lesser known riders ready to spring surprises, such as Daniel M\u00d6RBE (Husqvarna), Cole COOKLAND (Sherco), Rafal BRACIK (PL – KTM), Eddie FINDLING (D – Gas Gas) and Richard TUCKER (GB – Sherco).
\nThere is also a strong contingent of Dutch riders, represented by BROUWER (KTM), TEUNISSEN (Beta), SMIT (Beta) and VIERHUIZEN (KTM).<\/strong><\/p>\n

REIS, OLIVEIRA & KNIGHT\u2026 The Big Favourites<\/strong>
\nOver in the Open 4-Stroke class we find 12 entrants, and one big favourite for the title; Portugal\u2019s Luis OLIVIERA (KTM). But we\u2019ll also need to keep an eye on JET Zanardo\u2019s Enzo PELLEGRINI (CHL – KTM), Austria’s Bernhard SCHOEPF (KTM), and Britain\u2019s Thomas ELLWOOD (Kawasaki) as well as Belgian rider Mathias VAN HOOF (Beta).
\nWe also see the return of Bas KLEIN HANEVELD (NL – Husqvarna) and his Dutch compatriot Thijs BULTEN (Husqvarna).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally, the category which sees the most riders, with 35 entered, is the Open Senior!<\/strong> Of course we\u2019ll have a lot of German riders in this World Cup, but the most notable international entries are Andrea BELOTTI (I – KTM), Hans Peter MUSIL (AUT – KTM), Patrik ANDERSSON (S – Yamaha), Werner M\u00dcLLER (AUT – KTM) and Euan MCCONNELL (SCO – TM). Who all make a return to World level racing. However, the big favourite here will be none other than the triple Enduro World Champion, David KNIGHT (GB – Suzuki)! The giant from the Isle of Man will have the pressure of living up to his previous form, and will have to fight off many riders who dream of climbing on an international podium.
\nWe also find in this category Fernando FERREIRA (Sherco) and two Lithuanian riders in the form of Andrius MITKEVICIUS (KTM) and Danielius ZOSTAUTAS (KTM) as well as Dutchman Leonard MOULIJN (KTM).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sixty-six riders will take part in this very first round of the Champion Lubricants Enduro Open World Cup.
