\nFour weeks after the\u00a0Maxxis Grand Prix in Estonia<\/strong>, the stars of\u00a0EnduroGP<\/strong>\u00a0will meet in\u00a0Pietramurata<\/strong>\u00a0(Italy) on June 29th and 30th, before a well-deserved two month summer break…
\nFor this occasion,\u00a0SALVINI<\/strong>,\u00a0REMES,\u00a0<\/strong>FREEMAN\u00a0<\/strong>and many more will tackle the very first Hard Enduro race in the history of the\u00a0FIM Maxxis Enduro World Championship<\/strong>: “The Wall<\/strong>“!
\n
\nA Perfect Playground!<\/strong>
\n“The Wall<\/strong>” was created in 2015 under the initiative of\u00a0Umberto TRENTINI\u00a0<\/strong>and his daughter – multiple Italian Trial Champion,\u00a0Sara TRENTINI<\/strong>. While Extreme racing riders\u00a0Jonny WALKER (GB)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Alfredo GOMEZ (E)<\/strong>\u00a0won the first two editions, this event also attracted EnduroGP riders such as\u00a0Alex SALVINI (I – Husqvarna)<\/strong>,\u00a0Ivan CERVANTES (E)<\/strong>,\u00a0Thomas OLDRATI (I – Honda RedMoto)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Davide GUARNERI (I – Honda RedMoto)<\/strong>\u00a0who all figured very well.
\nOrganiser of a Trial GP race for the next two years, the\u00a0Off-Road Park\u00a0<\/strong>is very active in the field of all-terrain and was immediately attracted by the idea to see “The Wall<\/strong>” be part of the 2018 EnduroGP calendar, in addition to organising a new Trial GP next September.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0GP of Trentino<\/strong>\u00a0will be very different from a traditional Enduro. Indeed, there will be only one main race day, on Saturday, without forgetting of course the\u00a0Akrapovic Super Test\u00a0<\/strong>on Friday night. And everything will take place on the site of\u00a0Off-Road Park Pietramurata<\/strong>. The riders will start the day with three cross-type races on the Trentino MXGP playground. After a short break at noon, they will then take on four runs of a very stony\u00a0X-Rocks Enduro Test<\/strong>\u00a0on the mountainside. Then there will be time for the fans to see their idols while the riders prepare their motorcycles between 17.30 and 20.00. At night it will be time for the Extreme special which “The Wall<\/strong>\u201d takes its name from! With the start order taken from the cumulative times of the day, the riders will start this Xtreme one by one and ride it four times. To add a little more difficulty, this special will get tougher with each passage.<\/p>\n

Pietramurata<\/strong>\u00a0is located in the region of\u00a0Trentino<\/strong>–Alto Adige<\/strong>, a few kilometers from the world-famous Lake Garda, and is very popular with tourists wishing to discover northern Italy. But this small village is best known for its\u00a0Off-Road Park<\/strong>, which hosts each year a round of MXGP, one of Trial GP, and now its very first\u00a0EnduroGP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A packed schedule and an exceptional day awaits the stars of the\u00a0FIM Maxxis Enduro World Championship\u00a0<\/strong>this coming Saturday in\u00a0Pietramurata<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Who Can Stop SALVINI At Home?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cIt’s confirmed, we have found the\u00a0Alex SALVINI\u00a0<\/strong>of 2013! There seems to be some magic when he and\u00a0Franco MAYR\u00a0<\/strong>work together.<\/em>\u201d
\nThese were the words of the much respected journalist,\u00a0Dario AGRATI<\/strong>.
\nAnd he is not mistaken … “SALVO<\/strong>” is back and his rivals have been made very aware of it during the first part of the season! 4 wins out of 8 in EnduroGP and 5 in E2, the JET Racing rider will arrive at his home GP with the gold 24MX Leader Plate and he intends to increase his lead on a playground which he knows particularly well! But who will be able to stop him in his march towards the title E2?
\nWe think\u00a0Eero REMES (SF – TM)<\/strong>, impressive in Estonia until this unfortunate engine break on Sunday, will be his strongest competitor, although he is now 26 points behind\u00a0SALVINI<\/strong>, the factory TM rider has proved already this season that he has the speed to catch his rival …
\nKeep an eye also on\u00a0Lo\u00efc LARRIEU (F – Yamaha)<\/strong>, the most consistent rider behind the two \u2018headliners\u2019, who seems to be getting stronger with each GP. As does\u00a0Thomas OLDRATI\u00a0<\/strong>who was on form in Tallinn and has already proven himself at “The Wall<\/strong>“.
\nWatch out too for\u00a0Christophe Charlier (F – Beta)<\/strong>\u00a0who achieved his first podium with Beta in Estonia, and\u00a0Matthew PHILLIPS (AUS – Sherco)<\/strong>, who we hope will be back after his recent ill health.\u00a0Deny PHILIPPAERTS (I – Beta Boano)<\/strong>\u00a0could also be a contender.
\nThis\u00a0Trentino GP\u00a0<\/strong>will see the return of\u00a0Mathias BELLINO (F – Honda)<\/strong>, after a notable Portuguese GP (podium on Saturday) the Frenchman will want to go for the win!
\nWe are also pleased to see the return of home-favourites\u00a0Giacomo REDONDI (I – Honda RedMoto)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Alessandro BATTIG (I – Kawasaki)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Enduro 1, the big question is whether\u00a0Jamie MCCANNEY (GB – Yamaha)<\/strong>\u00a0will be recovered from the wrist injury he picked up in Estonia?
\nIf so, the battle with his fellow countryman\u00a0Brad FREEMAN (GB – Beta Boano)\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0Pietramurata<\/strong>\u00a0should be epic! The two Brits are equal on points and the Beta Boano rider seems to be very confident.
\nBehind these two \u2018untouchables\u2019,\u00a0Antoine BASSET (F – Gas Gas)\u00a0<\/strong>will be keen to consolidate his third place in the standings, and to be on the podium once again. But he will have to face the local riders\u00a0Manuel MONNI (I – Suzuki)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Gianluca MARTINI (I – Beta)<\/strong>.
\nEemil POHJOLA (SF – Gas Gas)<\/strong>\u00a0is also becoming a credible candidate for the podium. Indeed, the Finn has made great progress in the last three GPs and could steal the spotlight from his Gas Gas Factory team-mate.<\/p>\n

In the biggest bike capacity class, E3, the weekend will have a double challenge for\u00a0Steve HOLCOMBE (GB – Beta)<\/strong>. The 2017 EnduroGP World Champion will look to get closer to\u00a0SALVINI<\/strong>\u00a0in the EnduroGP standings while pulling away from his main competitors in E3;\u00a0Christophe NAMBOTIN (F – Gas Gas)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Daniel MCCANNEY (GB – Gas Gas)<\/strong>.
\nBut the Gas Gas boys have it in them to demote the Beta Factory rider, as they have already proved during the season.\u00a0MCCANNEY<\/strong>and\u00a0NAMBOT<\/strong>\u2019 are not ready to settle.
\nBut they will also have to look out for\u00a0Anthony GESLIN (F – Beta)<\/strong>, who has been in great form since the beginning of the season with two podiums already…<\/p>\n

Can ESPINASSE Confirm?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In the Juniors, the dominance of\u00a0Matteo CAVALLO\u00a0(I – Beta Boano)<\/strong>\u00a0is such that everybody is starting to wonder who can prevent him from winning the Junior 2 and the scratch Junior titles!
\nIn this J2 category,\u00a0Davide SORECA (I – TM)<\/strong>\u00a0still lacks consistency to truly take the fight to his compatriot, as do\u00a0Jack EDMONDSON (GB – Sherco)<\/strong>,\u00a0Joe WOOTTON (UK – Husqvarna)<\/strong>,\u00a0David ABGRALL (F – Sherco)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Enric FRANCISCO (KTM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Junior 1 category leader,\u00a0Andrea VERONA (I – TM)<\/strong>\u00a0has set his sights on\u00a0CAVALLO<\/strong>\u00a0in the scratch. Although the Factory TM rider could not resist an attack by French hopeful\u00a0Theo ESPINASSE (Sherco)<\/strong>\u00a0in Estonia. Very spectacular in the tests, the young prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of\u00a0Jeremy TARROUX<\/strong>, seems to be getting stronger despite some poor results, and might well come to worry\u00a0VERONA<\/strong>\u00a0…
\nVERONA<\/strong>\u00a0will also have to look out for\u00a0Kirian MIRABET (E – Honda)<\/strong>, second in the J1 standings. While\u00a0Antoine MAGAIN (B – KTM)\u00a0<\/strong>will have to be more consistent, and Scandinavian riders\u00a0Antti HANNINEN (SF – Husqvarna)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Erik APPELQVIST (S – Yamaha)<\/strong>will want to confirm their positive results from Estonia…<\/p>\n

Finally, in Youth 125cc, while\u00a0Ruy BARBOSA (CL – Husqvarna)\u00a0<\/strong>took over the lead of the category, five other riders could also have a claim to the World crown. Indeed,\u00a0Matthew VAN OEVELEN (B – Sherco)<\/strong>,\u00a0Hamish MACDONALD (NZ – Sherco)<\/strong>, Finns\u00a0Roni KYT\u00d6NEN (Husqvarna)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Hugo SV\u00c4RD (Husqvarna)<\/strong>, as well as the Brit\u00a0Dan MUNDELL (Sherco)<\/strong>\u00a0are not far behind and have the talent to catch the Chilean. The New Zealander,\u00a0MACDONALD<\/strong>, will have an advantage this weekend as he has participated in “Hard Enduro” races such as Romaniacs and Erzberg in the past. This under-21 category promises to be one of the most exciting of the year!<\/p>\n

This very first “Hard Enduro” type Grand Prix promises to be a must-see event in the 2018 season, and a lot of people will be out to support the riders at the finish line on Saturday night See you on the 29th and 30th of June at\u00a0Off-Road Park\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0Pietramurata<\/strong>!<\/p>\n
