Needing to go back 23 years to the last round of the series held in Hungary, in 1994 in Cser\u00e9nfa, it was a historic event for this small country and a huge boost to the sport of enduro.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">It is therefore\u00a0<strong>Adam HADOBAS<\/strong>\u00a0and his\u00a0<strong>M\u00e1tra Extrem Kft<\/strong>\u00a0team that have the task of creating a track worthy of a round of the World Championship, in this mountainous region of Europe. In the past, this Moto Club has proved its organizational skills in major competitions such as the Alpe-Adria and the Hungarian Enduro Championship. The\u00a0<strong>M\u00e1tra Extrem Kft<\/strong>\u00a0has all the qualities to ensure the success of this Grand Prix. Thus, in\u00a0<strong>Par\u00e1df\u00fcrd\u0151<\/strong>, competition will begin this Friday at 18:00 with the traditional\u00a0<strong>Akrapovic Super Test<\/strong>, which will be located nearby the Hotel Erzsebet Park. Riders will then compete in a loop of 60 km around the town, completing three laps each day. They will leave the paddock towards the\u00a0<strong>Technomousse Xtreme Test<\/strong>\u00a0located only 1km to the west. After stopping at the first Time Check, they will then tackle the\u00a0<strong>KTM Enduro Test<\/strong>, north of\u00a0<strong>Paradf\u00fcrdo<\/strong>, to finish with the\u00a0<strong>Maxxis Cross Test<\/strong>\u00a0near\u00a0<strong>Ercb\u00e1nya<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Situated at the foot of Mount M\u00e1tra, Hungary&#8217;s highest mountain at 1,015 meters (Mount K\u010dkes), and in the heart of the most touristic area of the country,\u00a0<strong>Par\u00e1df\u00fcrdo\u00a0<\/strong>offers the perfect location for this fourth round of the\u00a0<strong>Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship<\/strong>. The geography of the &#8220;<strong>Parad Tarna<\/strong>&#8221; valley promises a magnificent wooded course with numerous challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOLCOMBE will have to play his A game&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">In the\u00a0<strong>EnduroGP\u00a0<\/strong>class, the Italian Grand Prix saw the emergence of a new leader:\u00a0<strong>Steve HOLCOMBE (GB &#8211; Beta)<\/strong>. The Brit took full advantage of\u00a0<strong>Matthew PHILLIPS&#8217; (AUS &#8211; Sherco)<\/strong>\u00a0mechanical setback to take the lead in the championship. He now sits 21 points ahead of\u00a0<strong>Lo\u00efc LARRIEU (F &#8211; Yamaha)<\/strong>\u00a0and 25 points in front of the Australian. Despite this small advantage, the official Beta rider will have to remain vigilant. Indeed, the Italian round also saw the rise of a\u00a0<strong>LARRIEU<\/strong>\u00a0who showed impressive strength and speed. The official Yamaha is now a serious contender for the title and both\u00a0<strong>HOLCOMBE\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>PHILLIPS\u00a0<\/strong>will have to keep a watchful eye on the Frenchman&#8230; For its part, the official Sherco CH Racing rider\u00a0<strong>Phillips\u00a0<\/strong>will be out for revenge in\u00a0<strong>Paradf\u00fcrdo\u00a0<\/strong>after his day one DNF in Italy.<br \/>\n<strong>Christophe NAMBOTIN (F &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>\u00a0will also likely join the leading trio in battling for victory in Hungary. The official KTM rider has showed impressive speed on occasions this season and the 33-year-old remains a sure bet to challenge for race wins.<br \/>\nNambotin\u2019s teammate\u00a0<strong>Nathan WATSON (GB &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>, if he\u2019s free from the tendonitis problems that have been haunting him in recent GPs, is another who has the talent to fight with the leaders, as does the &#8220;Rookie&#8221; of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team\u00a0<strong>Christophe CHARLIER (F &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Charlier\u00a0<\/strong>will arrive in Hungary with a recent double win in the Italian Championship to his credit and clearly has the speed to climb on the podium&#8230;<br \/>\n<strong>Alex SALVINI (I &#8211; Beta)<\/strong>\u00a0should not be left out either. The Italian, invigorated by his two impressive rides at the GP of Italy expects to continue this momentum after a difficult start of season.<br \/>\nMeanwhile,<strong>\u00a0Giacomo REDONDI (I &#8211; Honda)\u00a0<\/strong>will continue his apprenticeship in the\u00a0<strong>EnduroGP\u00a0<\/strong>category, while\u00a0<strong>Cristobal GUERRERO (E &#8211; Yamaha)<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Jaume BETRIU (E &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>, after encouraging results since the beginning of the year, will be looking for top five results.<br \/>\nTwo Hungarian riders,\u00a0<strong>Kornel NEMETH (KTM)\u00a0<\/strong>and local\u00a0<strong>Bence HOLLO (Sherco)<\/strong>, who are expected to be favoured by their fans, will race in\u00a0<strong>EnduroGP\u00a0<\/strong>this weekend and will be joined by\u00a0<strong>Marco NEUBERT (D &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>, who\u2019s back in the series after performing well in Italy&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>REMES must react&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">In E2, youth has taken over. Despite a thrilling start to the season by\u00a0<strong>Eero REMES (SF &#8211; TM)<\/strong>\u00a0it was<strong>\u00a0Josep GARCIA (E &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Jamie MCCANNEY (GB &#8211; Yamaha)\u00a0<\/strong>who took control of the category in Italy. Current leader,\u00a0<strong>Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>impresses with his \u201cfire\u201d and speed while the Outsider Yamaha rider\u00a0<strong>McCanney\u00a0<\/strong>never ceases to collect the second place&#8230;<br \/>\nIf he does not want to be quickly sidelined by his two young rivals,\u00a0<strong>REMES\u00a0<\/strong>will have to take out his big game in Hungary in order to take back the class lead and continue his march forward towards a third world title.<br \/>\nBut it certainly won&#8217;t be easy for\u00a0<strong>Remes<\/strong>, in addition to\u00a0<strong>GARCIA\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>MCCANNEY\u00a0<\/strong>we are also witnessing the emergence of Austria\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Pascal RAUCHENECKER (Husqvarna)<\/strong>. If his teammate\u00a0<strong>Danny MCCANNEY (GB &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>\u00a0regains consistency and speed,\u00a0<strong>REMES\u00a0<\/strong>will have to resist the advances of four racers all under the age of 26&#8230;<br \/>\nIt will also be necessary to keep an eye on<strong>\u00a0Thomas OLDRATI (I &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>, in form at Spoleto, as well as on\u00a0<strong>Jonathan BARRAGAN (E &#8211; Gas Gas)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Manuel MONNI (I &#8211; TM)\u00a0<\/strong>who are now experienced riders of this Enduro 2 Class.<br \/>\n<strong>Daniel SANDERS (AUS &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Henric STIGELL (SF &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Lorenzo SANTOLINO (E &#8211; Sherco)\u00a0<\/strong>will have to react quickly, otherwise they will be knocked out of the Top 10. It\u2019s the same story for\u00a0<strong>Davide GUARNERI (I &#8211; Honda)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Rudy MORONI (I &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>J\u00e9r\u00e9my JOLY (F &#8211; Beta)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Gianluca MARTINI (I &#8211; Suzuki)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Romain DUMONTIER (F &#8211; Yamaha)<\/strong>&#8230;<br \/>\nThe\u00a0<strong>Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship<\/strong>\u00a0will also welcome one of the top guns of Hard Enduro,\u00a0<strong>Lars EN\u00d6CKL (AUT &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Towards a duel, SORECA &#8211; FREEMAN?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">In the Juniors,\u00a0<strong>Mikael PERSSON (S &#8211; Yamaha)\u00a0<\/strong>lost a lot of points (mechanical problems) to the class leader<strong>\u00a0Davide SORECA (I &#8211; Honda)\u00a0<\/strong>in Italy. The Honda RedMoto rider already sits 37 points ahead of his closest challenger and after three Grand Prix it is hard to see how the Swede will be able to thwart the plans of the Italian.<br \/>\nThe only rider who seems capable of catching\u00a0<strong>SORECA\u00a0<\/strong>is Britain\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Brad FREEMAN (Beta)<\/strong>. He has already won two days, as much as the Italian, and in some respects, is reminiscent of\u00a0<strong>Steve HOLCOMBE<\/strong>\u00a0in his first Junior year (2015).<br \/>\nIf nothing changes drastically during the GP of Hungary, it seems that we are heading towards a\u00a0<strong>FREEMAN\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>SORECA<\/strong>\u00a0duel for the junior title, and that some riders like\u00a0<strong>PERSSON<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Albin ELOWSON (S &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Kirian MIRABET (E &#8211; Sherco)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Matteo CAVALLO (I &#8211; Beta)<\/strong>\u00a0will have to up their game if they are to challenge for race wins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">In the FIM Youth Cup,\u00a0<strong>Andrea VERONA (I &#8211; TM)<\/strong>\u00a0looks set to continue his collection of victories. He has already won 4 out of 6 days held so far and one wonders who will be able to stop him&#8230; Behind the Italian prospect, we can find the French<strong>\u00a0L\u00e9o LE QUERE (TM)<\/strong>, who seems to be the only one to be able to worry him, and the Chilean\u00a0<strong>Ruy BARBOSA (Husqvarna)<\/strong>. Attention also to\u00a0<strong>Dan MUNDELL (GB &#8211; KTM)\u00a0<\/strong>and Andorran\u00a0<strong>Alex ISCLA (KTM)\u00a0<\/strong>who have shown impressive form in Italy and could well reiterate their performances in the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRANKE aims for victory&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Finally, in the Women\u2019s Cup, the duel between\u00a0<strong>La\u00efa SANZ (E &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<strong>Maria FRANKE (GB &#8211; KTM)<\/strong>\u00a0will resume after the month-long layoff. It\u2019s the Spaniard Sanz who leads at the moment, but the German Frank won more special tests at the first GP in Spain and is focused on claiming her first victory. Behind these two rivals, we should also witness a great battle for third place between\u00a0<strong>Jane DANIELS (GB &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sanna KARKKAINEN (SF &#8211; KTM)\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jessica GARDINER (AUS &#8211; Yamaha)<\/strong>\u00a0while<strong>\u00a0Mireia BADIA (E &#8211; Husqvarna)<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0Val\u00e9rie ROCHE (F &#8211; Sherco)\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Juliette BERREZ (F \u2013 Yamaha)\u00a0<\/strong>will compete for the 6th position of the standing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Twenty-three years later, and making a return to Eastern Europe, this\u00a0<strong>Maxxis Grand Prix of Hungary<\/strong>\u00a0is set to be a classic where the battles for the top of the podium look set to be as hot as the weather.
