\"\"<\/a>Done! The MP41 <\/strong>and the entire Belgium country have passed their test with this very first Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship<\/strong> Grand Prix. And this one has been very good\u2026 Back on a crazy week of Belgian organizers and EWC caravan.<\/p>\n

Success<\/strong>
\nFor the very first time in Enduro history, Belgium received a round of the\u00a0Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship <\/strong>and it\u2019s the\u00a0MP41 <\/strong>that has to organize it. And what we can say is that they did it pretty well\u2026 Making nice special tests and organizing everything around to bring people, the\u00a0MP41<\/strong>leaded by\u00a0Philippe LIGOT<\/strong>,\u00a0Christophe LADURON <\/strong>and\u00a0Jean-Fran\u00e7ois SLACHMUYLDERS<\/strong> have made a great shot! We already heard that they want to organize it again in 2017?<\/p>\n

Interest<\/strong>
\nAll these efforts have been rewarded by a certain interest and many riders\u2026 Coming from Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom and also Australia, this\u00a0FunnelWeb Filter Grand Prix of Belgium<\/strong> was full! According to the MP41, they had between 4 000 and 5 000 spectators in the KTM Super Test, around 10 000 on Saturday and 12 000 on Sunday\u2026 As\u00a0Philippe LIGOT (MP41 President)<\/strong> confided: \u201cThe best award we can get is that 25 000 people were present all along the weekend!<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Rally<\/strong>
\nLast Thursday,\u00a0KTM <\/strong>and\u00a0Husqvarna <\/strong>announced that\u00a0Antoine MEO (F) <\/strong>and\u00a0Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F)<\/strong> will join their Rally team in 2016\u2026 An accomplishment for these two riders who were looking for it! So they will not participate to the ISDE to prepare for Dakar, participating to the Atacama Rally end of August. But the official Husqvarna rider, after his shoulder dislocation on Saturday, will not be able to race this rally. We wish them good luck in their new life. They will be, for sure, the best Enduro ambassador\u2026 that has always been the best rally school (PETERHANSEL<\/strong>,COMA<\/strong>,\u00a0ROMA<\/strong>,\u00a0DESPRES<\/strong>\u2026)<\/p>\n

FunnelWeb Filter<\/strong>
\nBrand new among the EWC sponsors, the Australian air filter brand was the title sponsor of this Grand Prix of Belgium. With a commercial stand in the paddock and another one in Poix road, next to the special tests,\u00a0Niels VAN KEMPEN <\/strong>had the opportunity to attract many people looking to know more about that brand new filter\u2026 And to make more noise,\u00a0VAN KEMPEN <\/strong>has also made a very original hostess outfit that had a lot of success next to the spectator!<\/p>\n

Versatile?<\/strong>
\n\u201cThis Belgian Grand Prix is not a World Championship round!<\/em>\u201d (Antoine MEO<\/strong> \u2013 Friday, July 10th \u2013 15.45 \u2013 Rider Meeting)\u2026 \u201cThe special tests were really nice\u2026 nothing to say for a great first\u2026 The organization has been great. Xtreme not extreme?<\/strong>
\nFor some times now, we hear some people saying that the Xtreme Tests are not anymore difficult\u2026 But the\u00a0MP41<\/strong> proved this weekend that you still can do a natural and difficult Xtreme Test. With a wall that gave many difficulties to some riders and offered nice pictures to journalists, but also some very technical and slow sections. Spectators enjoyed a lot this special test all along the weekend!<\/p>\n

German connection<\/strong>
\nWith a Grand Prix very close from them, Germans came to fight with the best of the best. Indeed, in\u00a0St Hubert<\/strong>,\u00a0Edward HUBNER (KTM \u2013 E1)<\/strong> received the help of riders such as\u00a0Marco NEUBERT (Honda)<\/strong>, Dennis SCHROETER (Husqvarna)<\/strong>,\u00a0Mark RISSE (Beta)<\/strong> or also the prospects\u00a0Jan SCHAEFER (KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Yanik SPACHMUELLER (KTM)<\/strong> and\u00a0Davide VON ZITZEWITZ (KTM)<\/strong>\u2026 All these riders proved they can fight for some great places and it will maybe give them some nice ideas for the future while waiting of GP of Germany!<\/p>\n

Succession<\/strong>
\nSince the start of the season, we are speaking a lot of\u00a0Mikael PERSSON (S \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>,\u00a0Josep GARCIA (E \u2013 Husqvarna) <\/strong>and also of\u00a0Jack EDMONDSON (GB \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Luca GARELLO (F \u2013 Yamaha) <\/strong>and\u00a0David ABGRALL (F \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>\u2026 But we can\u2019t forget about Luc MALIGES (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>very consistent and 4th in the overall. Same for young TM France rider,\u00a0Quentin DELHAYE DE MAULDE (F)<\/strong> who was brilliant in St Hubert and has signed his first podium. Succession is here!<\/p>\n

A US guy in the EWC<\/strong>
\nSince the late\u00a0Kurt CASELLI (USA)<\/strong>,\u00a0Ian BLYTHE (USA)<\/strong> and\u00a0Andrew DELONG (USA) <\/strong>in 2011, the EWC never had the opportunity to welcome a US guy in the paddock. During this\u00a0FunnelWeb Filter GP of Belgium<\/strong>, the Red Moto Honda team has remedied to this, giving their help to\u00a0Chris BACH (USA \u2013 Honda)<\/strong>. GNCC specialist (3rd in 2013), North Carolina born distinguished himself for his first apparition on a World round (14\/12). VBery sympathetic,\u00a0BACH<\/strong> admitted that he \u201cloved this amazing event\u201d on his blog on Enduro21.com! After this first try, we hope to see him again and many others in the special tests.<\/p>\n

Come Back<\/strong>
\nDuring this\u00a0FunnelWeb Filter GP of Belgium<\/strong>,\u00a0David KNIGHT (GB \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> was back on track\u2026 Three time World Champ\u2019 scored two nice Top 5 despite still having troubles with this illness contracted during SuperEnduro GP AMV of France and while he made no specific preparation. Nice comeback also for Britain\u00a0Tom SAGAR (KTM \u2013 6\/9)<\/strong> while his fellow\u00a0Jamie LEWIS (KTM)<\/strong> after signing the 10th spot on Saturday had to give up on Sunday\u2026<\/p>\n

Extension<\/strong>
\nEnduro Mercato is already boiling! With 75% of the riders free of any contracts at the end of the season many manager and riders are in discussion and some of them have already re-signed just like Lorenzo SANTOLINO (E) <\/strong>who\u2019s back with Sherco for the two next years and also Ivan CERVANTES (E) <\/strong>who signed a 1 year contract with KTM. We heard also that\u00a0Yamaha <\/strong>is very active in the Free Agency and that some riders like\u00a0Matthew PHILLIPS (AUS \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>are willing to change team\u2026 This summer will be full of rumors and new contract, especially with the creation of the\u00a0EnduroGP <\/strong>class!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
