\"Great<\/a>Eero Remes<\/strong>,\u00a0Pela Renet<\/strong> and\u00a0Mathias Bellino<\/strong> round out perfect weekends in\u00a0Serres<\/strong>, all claiming double class wins at the\u00a0Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0GP of Greece<\/strong>. A second long day or racing in Serres ended with\u00a0Eero Remes<\/strong> winning in Enduro 1, closing to within just four points on championship leader\u00a0Christophe Nambotin<\/strong>. Husqvarna\u2019s\u00a0Pela Renet <\/strong>claimed his first double win of the season ahead of Antoine Meo with third going to Alex Salvini. Things were clearer second time out in Enduro 3, where\u00a0Mathias Bellino <\/strong>got the lead early in the day and rode on to victory. Conditions were dry and even harder on day two, with mud holes and countless river crossings in the enduro test taking their toll on many riders.<\/p>\n

Finland\u2019s\u00a0Eero Remes (TM)<\/strong> was hard to catch on day two, securing a fourth day win in 2015 to level\u00a0Christophe Nambotin\u2019s (F-KTM)<\/strong> number of victories this season. Riding with pain on his injured knee,\u00a0Christophe Nambotin<\/strong> had to settle for second in Enduro 1, and now leads\u00a0Remes <\/strong>by only four points. The battle for the Enduro 1 title is shaping up to offer some real drama during the upcoming rounds.\u00a0Danny McCanney (GB-Husqvarna) <\/strong>returned to form on day two to end up third on the podium. Spain\u2019s\u00a0Lorenzo Santolino (Sherco) <\/strong>ended the GP with another fourth place finish with his fellow countryman \u00a0Cristobal Guerrero (Yamaha) <\/strong>coming from behind to end fifth in Enduro 1. \u201cIt was another good day. No mistakes and another win,<\/em>\u201d was\u00a0Remes<\/strong>\u2019 overview of day two.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pela Renet\u2019s (F-Husqvarna) <\/strong>goal of reducing the championship lead held by\u00a0Antoine Meo (F-KTM) <\/strong>was achieved as the defending E2 champion secured victory on day two. With his second consecutive day win Renet is now 13 points behind in the championship standings. Meo made a mistake in the Enduro Test and then had to struggle a lot to regain ground. He finally ended second almost half a minute in front of third-placed\u00a0Alex Salvini (ITA-Honda)<\/strong>.\u00a0Salvini<\/strong> only has two weeks to work hard and search for his second win of the season at his home GP of Italy. Sherco\u2019s\u00a0Loic Larrieu (F)<\/strong> had another good fight with\u00a0Jaume Betriu (S-Husqvarna) <\/strong>for fourth place with the Frenchman ending up winning that battle and\u00a0Betriu <\/strong>finishing fifth again.<\/p>\n

In the Enduro 3 class it was Husqvarna\u2019s\u00a0Mathias Bellino<\/strong> who took the top step of the podium. Knowing that he would have to start the day in attack mode if he was to finish ahead of\u00a0Matt Phillips<\/strong>,\u00a0Bellino <\/strong>took to the front and steadily edged his way ahead as the day progressed. Second place went to Estonian TM rider\u00a0Aigar Leok<\/strong>, just as it did on day one. Impressively fast throughout the day,\u00a0Leok<\/strong>finished between\u00a0Bellino <\/strong>and\u00a0Phillips<\/strong>, with\u00a0Phillips <\/strong>struggling to perform at his best after a severely interrupted night\u2019s sleep due to food poisoning. \u201cI gave today everything during the first lap, I had to because I knew how fast\u00a0Phillips <\/strong>would be<\/em>,\u201d said\u00a0Bellino<\/strong>. \u201cStarting the second half of the series with a win is great\u2026 now I have to stay strong during the coming GPs<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fastest rider in the Enduro Junior class was Beta mounted Steve Holcombe<\/strong>. But the day two win went to\u00a0Jamie McCanney <\/strong>as the Manxman was able to take advantage of the fact that\u00a0Holcombe <\/strong>ran into troubles in the enduro test, taking water into his bike and losing precious time. Fighting hard he closed to within eight seconds of\u00a0McCanney <\/strong>at the finish. Rounding out the podium was Beta\u2019s\u00a0Giacomo Redondi<\/strong>. \u201cHats off to Steve, he was the fastest rider today,<\/em>\u201d commented\u00a0Jamie<\/strong>. \u201cI didn’t feel great today but to get the win was important for my championship.<\/em>\u201d
\nDominating the 125cc Youth Cup\u00a0Mikael Persson (Yamaha) <\/strong>produced a highly impressive performance to finish minutes ahead of his closest competitor \u2013 EWC first time podium finisher\u00a0Jack Edmondson (KTM)<\/strong>. Third went to Italian\u00a0Mirko Spandre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
