\"Will<\/a>Already important? <\/strong>Only a few days after a very intensive\u00a0Grand Prix\u00a0AMV Seguros\u00a0of Spain<\/strong>, the\u00a0Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship<\/strong> continues its usual tour on the Iberic peninsula, taking the road to\u00a0Portugal<\/strong>, more precisely in\u00a0Gouveia<\/strong>, town situated on the East of the second biggest city of the country:\u00a0Porto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0FIM <\/strong>gave to the\u00a0Nacional de Motociclismo Portugal (FMP)<\/strong>, chaired by\u00a0Manuel MARINHEIRO<\/strong>, the possibility to organize this event. And it\u2019s the brave Club Natureza Eventos <\/strong>that will have to make of this\u00a0Grand Prix\u00a0Polisport of Portugal<\/strong> a great event. This Club, chaired by\u00a0Jose BRITO<\/strong>, is not a newcomer on the EWC as they already organized a Grand Prix in Ourem and also in Fatima. They also organized many round of the Portuguese Championship\u2026 It\u2019s a very dynamic Moto Club that will be helped by\u00a0Pedro MARIANO (FIM Race Director) <\/strong>for the sports part and by Foz Motor for the communication.<\/p>\n

Natureza Eventos<\/strong> has drawn a 48 kilometers track that the riders will have to ride 3 times a day with only one Time Check. The paddock will be situated in \u00ab\u00a0Senhora dos Verdes <\/strong>\u00bb (8 kms from Gouveia) just like the three special tests of the weekend: the\u00a0Cross Test<\/strong>, the\u00a0Enduro Test <\/strong>and the Xtreme Test<\/strong>. A perfect and compact choice that will permit to the spectators to follow the race from start to finish like in Chile a month ago. The\u00a0KTM Super Test<\/strong> will be held in the center of\u00a0Gouveia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Small city in the North-East of Portugal,\u00a0Gouveia <\/strong>has approximately 15 000 inhabitants. This town from the district of\u00a0Guarda <\/strong>is situated 168 kilometers from\u00a0Porto <\/strong>and 92 kilometers from the Spanish frontier. Nice city from the Center region of Portugal,\u00a0Gouveia <\/strong>is situated on the foothill of the biggest Mountains of Portugal (until 1300 meters) and in the North point of the National Parc of Serra da Estrela\u2026<\/p>\n

Will PHILLIPS react?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arriving in Portugal with a very first double victory in the E3 category,\u00a0Mathias BELLINO (F \u2013 Husqvarna) <\/strong>is ready. But the 2012 Junior World Champion can also have some disappointing and surprising results when he is confident. That\u2019s why he has to remain 100% concentrate as\u00a0Matti SEISTOLA (SF \u2013 Sherco) <\/strong>is only 6 points behind! Moreover, a group of six riders dreams to get a win in this\u00a0Grand Prix\u00a0Polisport\u00a0of Portugal<\/strong>. Indeed, with\u00a0SEISTOLA<\/strong>,\u00a0Matthew PHILLIPS (AUS \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Manuel MONNI (I \u2013 TM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Jonathan BARRAGAN (E \u2013 Gas Gas)<\/strong>,\u00a0Aigar LEOK (EST \u2013 TM) <\/strong>and\u00a0Thomas OLDRATI (I \u2013 Husqvarna)<\/strong> proved in Jerez de la Frontera they have the speed to stop the leader of the class but they have to be much more consistent\u2026 \u00a0Jeremy TARROUX (F \u2013 Sherco)<\/strong>,Luis CORREIA (P \u2013 Beta) <\/strong>and\u00a0Antoine BASSET (F \u2013 Gas Gas) <\/strong>can also join the fight for the podium while\u00a0Jeremy JOLY (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> is progressively recovering his confidence. On his side,\u00a0Ivan CERVANTES (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>, will look to save some point before maybe undergoing to surgery\u2026.<\/p>\n

After an unstoppable double in Jerez de la Frontera on his KTM 250 EXC-F,\u00a0Christophe NAMBOTIN (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> will look to dominate the E1 Class and this start of season again. But we hope that\u00a0Eero REMES (SF \u2013 TM) <\/strong>will do everything to stop the good start of season of the three times World Champion. Just like\u00a0Cristobal GUERRERO (E \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>, good last weekend, that will look to do more this week. On their side, the French\u00a0Marc BOURGEOIS (Yamaha)<\/strong> and the Brit\u00a0Danny MCCANNEY (Husqvarna)<\/strong> will have to react after a deceiving GP of Spain\u2026\u00a0Simone ALBERGONI (I \u2013 Kawasaki)<\/strong> will look to get closer from the podium on the handlebar of his Kawasaki just likeLorenzo SANTOLINO (E \u2013 Sherco)<\/strong> that wasn\u2019t so far of it on Day 1.<\/p>\n

Trying to stop MEO\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Enduro 2, after another perfect weekend of\u00a0Antoine MEO (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>, his rivals have no choice now. With 14 points behind for\u00a0Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F \u2013 Husqvarna)<\/strong>, 18 for\u00a0Alex SALVINI (I \u2013 Honda) <\/strong>and more than 28 for\u00a0Johnny AUBERT (F \u2013 Beta)<\/strong>, these three riders will have to give it all in order to reduce the gap before the mid-season\u2026 Behind these four men, the outsiders\u00a0Jaume BETRIU (E \u2013 Husqvarna)<\/strong>,\u00a0Lo\u00efc LARRIEU (F \u2013 Sherco)<\/strong>,\u00a0Victor GUERRERO (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Deny PHILIPPAERTS (I \u2013 Beta)<\/strong> and\u00a0Oriol MENA (E \u2013 Beta)<\/strong> should offer a nice and exciting battle for the last Top 5 spot. Romain DUMONTIER (F \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>,\u00a0Nicolo MORI (I \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> and\u00a0Rannar UUSNA (EST \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>will have to step up if they want to join the fight while Portuguese spectators should have eyes only on local rider\u00a0Gon\u00e7alo REIS (P \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Under 23 category,\u00a0Giacomo REDONDI (I \u2013 Beta)<\/strong>,\u00a0Alessandro BATTIG (I \u2013 Honda) <\/strong>and Portuguese\u00a0Diogo VENTURA (P \u2013 Gas Gas)<\/strong> and\u00a0Luis OLIVEIRA (P \u2013 Yamaha) <\/strong>will have to stop the impressive ride of Husqvarna rider\u00a0Jamie MCCANNEY (GB \u2013 Husqvarna) <\/strong>if they don\u2019t want to be too far for the remainder of the season. Moreover, new recruit of Beta Boano team,\u00a0Steve HOLCOMBE (GB) <\/strong>could be once again one of the nice stars of the category! In FIM Youth Cup 125cc,\u00a0Josep GARCIA (E \u2013 Husqvarna) <\/strong>will have to be strong against\u00a0Mikael PERSSON (S \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>. Behind these two guys, nearly six riders can pretend to the last step of the podium:\u00a0Luca GARELLO (F \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>,\u00a0Jean-Baptiste NICOLOT (F \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>,\u00a0Valerian DEBAUD (F \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>,\u00a0David ABGRALL (F \u2013 Yamaha)<\/strong>,\u00a0Jack EDMONDSON (GB \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> and\u00a0Luc MALIGES (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Women Cup will be present in this\u00a0Grand Prix\u00a0Polisport\u00a0of Portugal<\/strong>.\u00a0La\u00efa SANZ (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> will look again to bring the colors of the Austrian brand on top of the podium while\u00a0Jessica GARDINER (AUS \u2013 Sherco) <\/strong>and\u00a0Jane DANIELS (GB \u2013 Husqvarna) <\/strong>will fight for\u2026 the second place!\u00a0Jemma WILSON (AUS \u2013 Yamaha) <\/strong>will have to keep the good Spanish pace if she wants to keep her 4th rank against riders like\u00a0Blandine DUFRENE (F \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>and\u00a0Samantha TICHET (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This Grand Prix\u00a0Polisport\u00a0of Portugal <\/strong>is really awaited and local fans are ready to vibrate and shout in the city of\u00a0Gouveia<\/strong>,\u00a0National Parc of Serra da Estrella <\/strong>that will become for few days the sanctuary of the Enduro!<\/p>\n
