\"Matti<\/a>Back in San Juan\u2026<\/strong>
\nOnly few days after the GP of Chile, the\u00a0Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship<\/strong> is back in Argentina now, as it was in 2012, and still in\u00a0San Juan<\/strong>, after crossing the Cordillera of Andes on 4000 meters and a travel of 800 kilometers\u2026 with many emotions.<\/p>\n

As last year, the\u00a0FIM <\/strong>gave its confidence to\u00a0MasEventos <\/strong>and the\u00a0Confederacion Argentina de Motociclismo Deportivo (CAMOD) <\/strong>the organization of this event. This three-headed organization, directed by\u00a0David ELI <\/strong>from\u00a0Mas Eventos<\/strong> is in association with the passionate of Enduro in\u00a0San Juan <\/strong>gathered in the \u201cAsociacon San Juanina de Enduro y Rescate<\/strong>\u201d chaired by\u00a0Alfredo VARGAS<\/strong>and helped by important local people\u00a0Raul MENEGAZO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

San Juan<\/strong> is situated in the\u00a0San Juan<\/strong> province and in\u00a0Capitale <\/strong>department, in\u00a0Tulum <\/strong>valley in the west of the\u00a0San Juan<\/strong> river. This nice town on the foot of the Cordillera of Andes and nicknamed the \u201cStars of Andes<\/strong>\u201d has more than 120 000 inhabitants and has numerous touristic places as the like the\u00a0Santo Domingo<\/strong> convent, the\u00a0Juan Victoria<\/em> Auditorium (one of the most important in the world), its baths\u2026\u00a0San Juan<\/strong> is only 175 kilometers South to\u00a0Mendoza <\/strong>and to 1111 kilometers from the Argentinian capital:\u00a0Buenos Aires<\/strong>. Just like Talca (Chile), San Juan<\/strong> is a wine growing region\u2026\u00a0Ullum<\/strong>, only 20kms on the North of San Juan < \/strong>there is a local oasis; next to the desert, thanks to its nice lake. And it is in\u00a0Ullum <\/strong>that every special tests are gathered for this\u00a0Grand Prix\u00a0Maxxis\u00a0of Argentina<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new track\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Indeed,\u00a0ASER<\/strong>, the local club, has drawn a different track from 2012. This one will make 50 kilometers and will cross theUllum<\/strong>\u2019s lake and barrage in a wonderful lunar landscape. The rider will have to cover it 4 times during the two race days with 7 hours on the bike across 200 kilometers arid and desert. The Paddock will be situated as last year in the\u00a0Predio Ferial<\/strong>, in the center of\u00a0San Juan<\/strong>, where will take place the\u00a0KTM Super Test <\/strong>on Friday night (18.00). We are waiting for 12000 aficionados while the cameras of Argentinean National TV will broadcast the event in live!\u00a0Gio SALA (FIM Race Inspector) <\/strong>and\u00a0Ariel NAVARRO<\/strong>, local rider, will present us the track. The Enduro Test<\/strong>, situated in \u201cEl Pinar<\/strong>\u201d, on the foot of the barrage of\u00a0Ullum <\/strong>is totally new: \u201cThe Enduro Test will be more complicated than in 2012\u2026<\/em>\u201d explain us the five times World Champion \u201cIndeed, it is more difficult and demanding with top and downhill very technical. Moreover, it will be very tricky with the dust and the different stones. The race can be played here on those 6 kilometers of test!<\/em>\u201d The\u00a0Cross test<\/strong>is localized in Ullum in the same place than last year, a training track for local\u00a0ASER <\/strong>riders. \u201cIt\u2019s a very fluid and fast special test with jump combos. His length of 3 kilometers will not help to make big gap.<\/em>\u201d New one this year, the\u00a0Xtreme Test<\/strong> is situated in \u201cEl Castillo<\/strong>\u201d on the other side of\u00a0Ullum <\/strong>barrage\u2026 \u201cIt is more spectacular and technical than last year on its 2.5 kms. Public and riders must love it with his landscape et and its natural difficulties.<\/em>\u201d<\/strong>

The E2 Big Five\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

In\u00a0Enduro 2<\/strong>, the race for the first place seems to be once again exciting.\u00a0Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong> and\u00a0Alex SALVINI (I \u2013 HM Honda)<\/strong>, winners in Chile, will look to do it again while\u00a0Ivan CERVANTES (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> and\u00a0Johnny AUBERT (F \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>will try to clinch their first victory just like\u00a0David KNIGHT (GB \u2013 Honda)<\/strong> who has confirmed an impressive speed! Behind this Top 5, it will be very difficult to the outsiders as\u00a0MENA (E \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong>, V.GUERRERO (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0BALLETTI (I \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>orSANTOLINO (E \u2013 HVA)<\/strong> and\u00a0BASSET (F \u2013 Yam)<\/strong> to look better than the 6th rank\u2026 And the numerous Argentinian spectators await in the special test will have to shout for their best national riders,\u00a0Kevin BENAVIDES (KTM) <\/strong>and\u00a0Franco CAIMI (KTM)<\/strong>, not so far from the Top 10!<\/p>\n

And if\u00a0Christophe NAMBOTIN (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> is not so untouchable than we were thinking? The victory of\u00a0Joakim LJUNGGREN (S \u2013 Husaberg) <\/strong>on Saturday in the\u00a0Enduro 3<\/strong> class has maybe open a breach in the \u201cwall\u201d of the French who won on Sunday\u2026 but not with his insolent speed he showed in 2012! Best Gas Gas rider,\u00a0Rodrig THAIN (F)<\/strong>seems to be the 3rd one on the fight for the win with a vindictive\u00a0Aigar LEOK (EST \u2013 TM) <\/strong>after his difficulties in Chile.\u00a0Manuel MONNI (I \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>and\u00a0Luis CORREIA (P \u2013 Beta) <\/strong>have shown great potential in Talca just like\u00a0Fabien PLANET (F \u2013 Sherco)<\/strong> andMarcus KEHR (D \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>. However it will be difficult for them to reach the podium\u2026<\/p>\n

After victorious start in Chile on his KTM 250 EXC-F,\u00a0Antoine MEO (F) <\/strong>will look to confirm his two nice places while trying to dominate a bit more the\u00a0Enduro 1<\/strong> class. But for sure, the two Husqvarna riders,\u00a0Matti SEISTOLA (SF) <\/strong>and\u00a0Juha SALMINEN (SF) <\/strong>will step up to contain the domination of the French, helped by Thomas OLDRATI (I \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong> very tough in Talca. Loser of the GP of Chile due to his shoulder injury on the 2nd day, the other KTM rider\u00a0Cristobal GUERRERO (E) <\/strong>has to forget this South American tour and maybe the 2013 title. On their side, the Frenchies\u00a0J\u00e9r\u00e9my JOLY (Honda) <\/strong>and\u00a0DEPARROIS (Yam) <\/strong>will try to confirm their excellent first race day while\u00a0Eero REMES (SF \u2013 TM)<\/strong> despite a lucky podium on day 2, will have to step up if he wants to keep his outsiders status.<\/p>\n

Who can beat REDONDI?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Author of an impressive double last weekend, the promising\u00a0Giacomo REDONDI (I \u2013 KTM Iron Racing) <\/strong>has impressed in\u00a0Juniors <\/strong>and as also avoid the problems! But this category seems to be really open with more than ten riders able to win as\u00a0KVARSTROM (S \u2013 Beta)<\/strong>,\u00a0PHILLIPS (AUS \u2013 HVA)<\/strong>,\u00a0LARRIEU (F \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong>,\u00a0MANZI (I \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0D\u2019AMBROSIO (I \u2013 Yam)<\/strong>,\u00a0MORONI (I \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>, OLIVEIRA (P – Yam)<\/strong>,\u00a0MCCANNEY (GB \u2013 Gas Gas), ROMAN (E \u2013 Husaberg), MORI (I \u2013 Beta),<\/strong> EDLUND (S \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong>,\u00a0HARPER (AUS \u2013 Honda)<\/strong>\u2026 The Junior will be intense this season!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0FIM Youth Cup 125cc <\/strong>and his leader\u00a0Benjamin HERRERA (CL \u2013 TM)<\/strong> will complete the program and the 110 entries (numerous Brazilian riders) waited this weekend for the 2nd round of the season!<\/p>\n
