\nAfter four months of waiting, the highly anticipated start of the\u00a02013 MAXXIS FIM Enduro World Championship<\/strong> is now just days away with the series kicking off with the\u00a0Grand Prix\u00a0Acerbis\u00a0of Chile<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

As last year, this Grand Prix is the first of 7 rounds and will take place once again in the capital of Maule region and around the foot of the Cordillera of Andes,\u00a0Talca<\/strong>. Once again, a big heat will welcome the riders that are all back from a winter preparation.<\/p>\n

For the second consecutive year, the\u00a0FIM <\/strong>has awarded the\u00a0Federacion de Motociclisme de Chile<\/strong> and\u00a0Abascal Produccion <\/strong>the honour of hosting the first round of what is expected to be a thrilling season. This federation, with\u00a0Jose Tomas DIAZ<\/strong> as Enduro delegate have a wealth of experience. Indeed, she has been a part of the organizers of the 2011 and 2012 Dakar, has its own National Championship and has welcomed the ISDE in 2007 in La Serena. On his side, the organizers\u00a0 is great fervent of the Enduro and was at the origin of the coming of the EWC in Chile.<\/p>\n

South America in total admiration with the EWC<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Federacion Motociclisme de Chile (FMC)<\/strong> and\u00a0Rodrigo ABASCAL<\/strong> have prepared a track of 60 kilometres, which will be ridden three times each day during the two days of competition. Each lap will feature two Time Checks. The paddock will be situated once again in the centre of\u00a0Talca <\/strong>on the \u201cMall Plaza Maule<\/strong>\u201d. The Enduro Test <\/strong>will take place in\u00a0Maitenhuapi<\/strong> while the\u00a0Xtreme Test<\/strong> and the\u00a0Cross Test<\/strong> will be located in\u00a0Cerro La Virgen<\/strong>, near a Motocross track. Friday night\u2019s\u00a0KTM Super Test <\/strong>will run at the same place than last year in the heart of\u00a0Talca<\/strong>. The tracks, trails and special tests are expected to be very dry, dusty, challenging and rocky and had caused some damaged to some favourites in 2012.<\/p>\n

Talca <\/strong>is situated in the province of the same name and is the capital of the Maule region. This charming city, of 231\u20195 km2 has a more than 201 797 inhabitant, is located in a highly seismic region as the stars of the EWC have experienced last year. It is 253 km South of\u00a0Santiago<\/strong>, the capital of the country. It is crossed by the\u00a0Pan-American Highway <\/strong>that starts in\u00a0Prudhoe Bay<\/strong>,Alaska <\/strong>and finishes in\u00a0Ushuaia<\/strong>,\u00a0Argentina<\/strong>. On the history side, the Catholic church of\u00a0Talca <\/strong>played a big part in the Chile\u2019s history. Talca is also one of Chile\u2019s better-known wine growing regions.<\/p>\n

With once again more than 150 competitors entered for the event, the Enduro World Championship is set to start in spectacular fashion and in one of the world\u2019s most picturesque places.<\/p>\n

The riders can\u2019t wait!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every EWC stars are ready to race on the South American track.\u00a0Antoine MEO (F \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>is the big favourite for his own succession in the E1 class just like\u00a0Juha SALMINEN (SF \u2013 HVA) <\/strong>that will target a 9th crown. These two champions will also have to face\u00a0Cristobal GUERRERO (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Matti SEISTOLA (SF \u2013 HVA)<\/strong> andThomas OLDRATI (I \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong> that will look for their first World title. The ItalianSimone ALBERGONI (I \u2013 HM Honda)<\/strong>, the Finn\u00a0Eero REMES (TM)<\/strong> and also the Frenchies\u00a0J\u00e9r\u00e9my JOLY (F \u2013 Honda)<\/strong>,\u00a0Nicolas DEPARROIS (Yam)<\/strong> and\u00a0Anthony BOISSIERE (Sherco) <\/strong>will be the most serious outsiders.<\/p>\n

On his side,\u00a0Pierre-Alexandre RENET (F \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong>, 2012 E2 World Champion, will have a lot to do with the trio\u00a0David KNIGHT (GB \u2013 Honda)<\/strong>,\u00a0Ivan CERVANTES (E \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>and\u00a0Johnny AUBERT (F \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>that account 9 World titles\u2026 But the Italians\u00a0Oscar BALLETTI (KTM)<\/strong> and\u00a0Alex SALVINI (HM Honda)<\/strong> as the Spanish\u00a0Oriol MENA (Husaberg) <\/strong>and\u00a0Lorenzo SANTOLINO (HVA) <\/strong>but also the French Antoine BASSET (Yam) <\/strong>can play the spoilers.<\/p>\n

The E3 class must offer some nice fight between\u00a0Christophe NAMBOTIN (F \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>and his rivals\u00a0Joakim LJUNGGREN (S \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong>,\u00a0Aigar LEOK (EST \u2013 TM)<\/strong> andRodrig THAIN (F \u2013 Gas Gas)<\/strong>\u2026 We will also attend to the hatching of\u00a0Mathias BELLINO (F \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong> in Senior class but also to the come back on the foreground to\u00a0Fabien PLANET (F \u2013 Sherco)<\/strong> and\u00a0Marko TARKKALA (S \u2013 Honda) <\/strong>and to the confirmations ofManuel MONNI (I \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>and Luis CORREIA (P \u2013 Beta)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Finally, in the Junior category, a quartet composed of\u00a0Mario ROMAN (E \u2013 Husaberg)<\/strong>,\u00a0Giacomo REDONDI (I \u2013 KTM)<\/strong>,\u00a0Danny MCCANNEY (GB \u2013 Gas Gas) <\/strong>and\u00a0Robert KVARNSTROM (S \u2013 Beta) <\/strong>share the favours. The great loser of this South American tour will be\u00a0Jonathan MANZI (I \u2013 KTM)<\/strong> as he will not participate to it. But some young guns as\u00a0Edoardo D\u2019AMBROSIO (I \u2013 Yam)<\/strong>,\u00a0Loic LARRIEU (F \u2013 Husaberg) <\/strong>and Johan EDLUND (S \u2013 Husaberg) <\/strong>can create the surprise\u2026 In the FIM Youth Cup 125cc, the duel announced between Matteo BRESOLIN (I \u2013 KTM) <\/strong>and\u00a0Jamie MCCANNEY (GB \u2013 Husaberg) <\/strong>can see the coming of a third rider as local\u00a0Benjamin HERRERA ( CL \u2013 TM) <\/strong>will benefit of the fervour of the warming Chilean public.<\/p>\n

Anticipating the arrival of the stars of the Enduro World Championship Chilean, Argentinean and Guatemalan enduro fans will soon gather in\u00a0Talca <\/strong>where the\u00a0Federacion Motociclisme de Chile<\/strong> has prepared an international celebration of off-road motorcycle competition that\u2019s not to be missed\u2026.<\/p>\n
