European Season starts with 193 international riders in Tuskana

2016ev03_donoraticoIt is the season-opener of the Enduro European Championship (EEC) in the Tuscany: Motoclub “Costa Etrusca” starts on Saturday and Sunday, 12th and 13th of March, each day at 8:00 a.m. nearly 200 international riders to the first round of the championship.

You will find the Paddock directly at the mainroad “Via Vecchia Aurelia” at the highway-exit “Donoratico”.

The presentation and opening ceremony will take place at “Cavallini Matto”, the fun-park only a few hundred meters from the paddock.

The demanding and stony track will be about 55 km and has to be passed three times with three special-tests each lap.

European Enduro Championship kicking off in Italy

Tom Sagar with Sherco TeamOnly some weeks left to the kick off the European Enduro Championship (EEC) in Donoratico,  Italy.
For 2016 there are four different, new and well known venues for the upcoming competitions.
Moto Club Costa Etrusca is organizing on 12th and 13th of March in Donoratico / Italy (south of Pisa) the first round.

Only a fortnight later, on 26th and 27th of March is the next highlight at a prominent place: in Brioude / France

Voor elke rijder in het BAS team is dat het belangrijkste. Met zijn allen naar de finish. De eerste helft van de rally kan door het voltallige team afgevinkt worden. “Mooi man, dat we er allemaal zijn gewoon!”
“Met het hele team zijn we bij de rustdag aangekomen, mooi man! Ben er echt blij om!” Zei Jan, die zich natuurlijk best zorgen had gemaakt om zijn maat Marco, die technische ellende had op het eerste deel van de marathon etappe.

Top vijf plaatsen in lastige EK enduro finale Duitsland

In het vrij vlakke gebied oostelijk van Berlijn hadden de organisatoren elk denkbaar bultje benut, zowel in de 70 km lange ronde als in de drie proeven. Veel trialwerk en veel in de lage versnellingen rijden, betekende ruim zeven uur rijtijd per dag. De wedstrijd werd vooral in de twaalf minuten lange enduroproef beslist.
Op zaterdag waren het Lucas Dolfing (5e E1) en Nina Klink (4e Dames) die de oranje eer hoog hielden. Thierry Pittens (E1) was erg snel onderweg maar als je op het randje rijdt kun je er ook over heen gaan. Hij brak zijn koppeling compleet af bij een val en moest daarna nog twee proeven rijden. Daarmee was een goede klassering weg. Broer Wesley Pittens (E2) was het snelst in zijn klasse totdat hij in proef twee in een lastige zandklim in de file terecht kwam en twee minuten verloor.
Op zondag herhaalde Nina Klink haar goede vierde plaats en die positie bezet ze ook in het eindklassement. Op maar drie punten van het eindpodium is dat een prima score voor een eerstejaars. Wesley Pittens (E2) maakte nu geen fouten en hij haalde een beste vijfde plaats. Robin Nijkamp zette zich over zijn blessure ongemak heen en reed nu veel sneller dan zaterdag naar de zesde plaats. Lucas Dolfing (E1) werd opnieuw vijfde.

In het eindklassement van het EK 2015 wordt Lucas Dolfing zesde, Thierry Pittens in zijn eerste jaar zevende en Robin Nijkamp (E2) ook zevende. Bjorn Sloot haalt in de laatste wedstrijd van zijn eerste jaar ook zijn eerste EK punt.
