Overjoyed, the day’s winner Dietger Damiaens from Belgium received the victory trophy in Hungary. The KTM rider himself was surprised at how strong he suddenly was after only one year in the European Championship.
Frenchman David Abgrall proved to be his fiercest competitor this time: without any mistakes, he repeatedly steered his Sherco almost to Damiaens’ times, but in the end he was just 18 seconds off.

Tweede EK van start in Hongarije
In het aardige stadje Tamasi, zo’n 60 km ten zuiden van het Balatonmeer, gaat op 2 en 3 april de tweede EK wedstrijd van dit seizoen plaats vinden. Zes Nederlanders aanwezig waarvan Ties Bennink zijn 14e plaats in het Youth klassement hoopt te verbeteren. Datzelfde geldt voor Mike Bokslag (6e Junior E2/3) en Marc Zomer (10e Junior E2/3).
Zuiderbuur Erik Willems leidt in de scratch, waar Dietger Damiaens vierde staat.
De wedstrijd is op een klein gebied uitgezet en er gaan vier ronden van 40 km gereden worden.
On the first riding day of the Borilli European Enduro Championship 2022, the ELEVEIT MOTOBOOTS ROUND 2#, in Tamasi, Belgian Erik Willems won again ahead of Englishman Daniel Mundell and thus extended his lead in the European Championship.
But it was a long day until then, which presented Willems with particular problems: “I hadn’t eaten enough during the day. This gave me slight cramps at the end. We drove for more than eight hours, I’m not used to that. I still have to find the right balance there.”

The Hungarian city will be the center of the Enduro European with the EEC ELEVEIT Round # 2 next weekend.
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of April the 2nd Round of the Borilli Enduro European Championship 2022 will be staged. In Hungary, in the city of Tamasi, ELEVIT Round 2 will open its doors to the more than 100 riders enrolled in this second act of the continental enduro championship.
