Even after guest starter Eero Remes as a local hero won the second day of
the Borilli European Enduro Championship 2022, the 24MX ROUND 2#, in Sipoo,
Finland, Belgian Erik Willems retains the overall lead. The Husqvarna rider
was even snatched second place on the day in the very last special stage:
Briton Daniel Mundell pushed him into third place in the overall standings
of day two.

The three-time world champion imposes himself again on his opponents, Daniel Mundell conquers the second place overall while Erik Willems confirms himself third.
The second Finnish day of the Borilli Enduro European Championship took place on Sunday 24th of July, under a shy sun, which hidden by the clouds gave respite to the drivers who started on time from 9.00.
In 24MX Round #3 Day 2 the number of drivers who started decreased compared to day 1, the difficulty of the race forced some participants to withdraw; the structure of the race also changed; the number of laps was, in fact, reduced to 2 and a half.

Weinig punten voor Nederlanders in zware Finse EK
Zelfs de snelle Dietger Damiaens sprak van één van de zwaarste EK’s die hij ooit had gereden. Erg veel stenen en wortels en pittige stukken en klimmen op de onverharde route delen waar je slecht in je ritme kwam. Dan nog een pak extra thuisrijders die het gewend zijn en dan wordt voor die van ons de toptien al een flinke opgave. Dat dan de snelste twee, Mike Bokslag en Marc Zomer toch drie keer in het “goud” rijden is een compliment waard. In de tussenstand staat Mike Bokslag vierde en Marc Zomer 8e.
Simon Koning en Dario van Saase hielden de kop erbij, maakten weinig mee en brachten hem keurig thuis na twee leerzame dagen.
De finale is eind oktober in Duitsland in Rüdersdorf.
The two Finnish drivers show up on the first day of the Third Round of the European Championship. The multiple world champion, Eero Remes triumphs for only 0.51 seconds over his compatriot Eemil Pohjola.
The Finnish town of Sipoo kicked off the 24MX Round #3 of the 2022 Borilli Enduro European Championship on Saturday 23rd of July. In a fine rain and a cool summer breeze, the first of the two Finnish days began. The rain that fell in the early hours of the morning did not prevent the rise of a beautiful sun, which for the first time since the beginning of the season, accompanied the 114 registered drivers. Despite the rain, last-minute changes were not necessary at the special stages, much less to the route.

FIM Europe: Enduro 2022 – – Home advantage used in Finland
On the first day of the Borilli European Enduro Championship 2022, the 24MX ROUND 2#, in Sipoo, Finland, local hero Eero Remes won on a Husqvarna: The Finn has already collected three world championship titles in his active career and, although he actually wanted to hang up his helmet, he couldn’t resist the temptation: “I only live 20 minutes from here and I know the terrain and the conditions well. It would be a shame not to have taken the chance to race,” he said after the competition. At first it didn’t look like he had the advantage, because in the demanding extreme test the small rider got stuck in the long stone field and lost more than 40 seconds, which dropped him to sixth place overall.
